The CYPome of the filamentous fungus Aspergillus nidulans was identified, assigned with CYP nomenclature and putative function. The analysis revealed 111 P450 genes and 8 pseudogenes, representing 89 CYP families, 21 unique in this fungus. Cellular location was predicted as well. From the chromosomal location of the genes, gene clusters were identified, those of associated 2 or more P450 genes, and those with associated putative polyketide and non-ribosomal peptide synthetases enzymes involved in secondary metabolite production, and possible functions are discussed.
