The thesis addresses techniques, procedures and mechanisms for establishment of mesh WiMAX networks. Comprehensive analyses are given of centralized and distributed scheduling techniques for modern wireless networks based on WiMAX technologies and mesh networks principles. The core of the thesis is focused on scheduling algorithms. A detailed comparative performance analysis of established and experimental approaches is given, followed by a WiMAX mesh network design proposal and appropriate algorithm selection for various use-case scenarios and the belonging performance criteria.
