The main contribution of the present work was to study the impact of Corona-treated wool fabrics' induced surface properties on dye-bath exhaustion. Firstly, the differing chemical aspects of a woven wool fabric's surface were determined using XPS and polyelectrolyte titration. Fabrics were dyed with blue acid and blue metal-complex dyes. The results provided evidence that the overall carbon C 1s content was decreased. It has also been noted that the amount of positive-charged functional groups in various pH ranges are higher for Corona-treated wool fabric in comparison with the untreated.

The aim of this study was to setup a method for detection and quantification of monosaccharide components in technical galactoglucomannas (T-GGM) from spruce wood using capillary zone electrophoresis (CZE). The amounts of single monosaccharide components in the T-GGM samples obtained by the optimised CZE procedure were practically the same in comparison to the results of the well established HPLC-anion exchange chromatography.
