A significant enhancement of the thermal stability of the nanocomposites and a nucleating effect of the inorganic nanotubes comparable to carbon nanotubes has been observed. The excellent dynamic mechanical data demonstrates the high-performance of these novel iPP/IN-MoS2 nanocomposites for industrial applications.

Optical investigation of exfoliated MoS2 nanotubes has shown low degree of restacking, quantum confinement as a size effect and a strong blue shift of exitons. The MoS2 single layers represent inorganic graphene analogy.
