We have protected synthesis of MoS2 nanotubes and peapods, geometry of peapods and threadlike molybdenum oxides. MoS2 nanotubes are applicable in industrial lubricants, solar cells, as catalysts in desulfurization of petroleum and for self lubricative polymer coatings.

COBISS.SI-ID: 26299687We prepared the first nanocomposite based on water soluble polyethilen oxide (PEO) with added MoS2 nanotubes. The nanocomposite thin coating on stainless steel decrease friction for several tens percents. After the breakthrough the MoS2 nanotubes continue with friction reduction.
