Jim Pugel's life story represents the typical life story of a Slovene immigrant who had to transform over night from a farmer to an industrial worker and move from a calm countryside environment to a city. The story describes all the troubles in the process of adjustment to the American way of life and numerous situations with which Slovene immigrants had to cope. The book contributes to the knowledge on the existence of a Slovene community in Pueblo among Slovenes in the U.S. as well as among researchers of ethnic communities in the U.S. and in Slovenia.

The article addresses two issues: the general impact of the Internet on language and a more specific question concerning the mixing/switching of Slovene and English in Slovene blogs. Selected blogs are analyzed from the linguistic point of view (vocabulary, morphology, syntax, orthography). In addition, the phenomenon is interpreted from sociolinguistic and pragmatic perspectives, whereby mixing/switching of the two languages is closely tied to the personal, cultural and social identities of the bloggers, their communicative intent and their attitudes toward the target audience.

An overview of general bilingual German-Slovenian dictionaries is followed by a closer investigation of the Plet, DebN, DebS, PonsN and PonsS dictionaries. The researcher investigates the user reference, the dictionary basis, the primary recorded lexical items, as well as outer texts and phased-in inner texts. Only in Plet the user reference is relatively clearly recognisable. In the second part of the dictionary the analysis of selected aspects of the dictionary subject matter and the dictionary form of the mentioned dictionaries are investigated by means of dictionary articles.
