Lučka Lorber was Chair of the Organizing Committee of the 17th Annual Colloquium of the IGU Commission on the Sustainability of Rural Systems entitled New Challenges for Sustainable Rural Development in the 21st Century. There were 98 participants coming from 23 countries. The aims of the conference were to enable the participants to get acquainted with the impact of the common EU agricultural policy on the sustainable development of rural areas. The expected results were the definition of new guidelines and development aspects to assure sustainable development of rural areas in the future.

COBISS.SI-ID: 1142020The dissertation describes the life and work of Felaher, who was known for his fight for the rights of Carinthian Slovenes. After the plebiscite he immigrated to Yugoslavia and worked as a judge. After World War II he became an associate at the Institute for Ethnic Studies. In 1929 he helped establish the Club of Carinthian Slovenes and was its presidet until the outbreak of the World War II. After the war he became vice-president of the organization. The Club fought for the right of Carinthian Slovenes to exist and helped them by sending cultural items and with stipends for their students.

COBISS.SI-ID: 11350605In Porabje in Hungary, two different pronunciations of the Prekmurje Goričko sub-dialects developed, i.e. Senik-pronunciation and Števanovci-pronunciation. They differ in the level of long and short vowels – diphthongs and monophthongs. In the word-stock there are many words which were transferred from German, Hungarian and also from the Old-Slavonic language. In the Prekmurje Goričko sub-dialect, which is known also as the Prekmurje literary language with a 300 year tradition, the first Porabje novel Garaboncijaš was written. It was translated into Slovene and Hungarian literary language.

COBISS.SI-ID: 17170184Human spatial identification to a certain space is greatly influenced by the relation of society as a whole, which co-forms individual’s spatial notion through stereotypes, viewpoints and values. School as an educational institution has a very important role in it, particularly the citizenship education, which can contribute to the reduction and abolition of some stereotypes related to the ideas of space, national identity and multiculturalism. The article presents the results of the research about the perceptions and opinions of the Slovenian students about their neighbouring countries.
