In the beginning of November 2010 the Jewish Cultural Centre organised an evening dedicated to the English translation of Nekropola, the novel by Boris Pahor. At this occasion prof. Pirjevec was invited to present to the audience the history of Trieste in the first half of the 20th century with an emphasis on its Slovene population. He spoke about the ethnical conflict that took place in the city between the two wars and emphasised the extent to which the Slovene national community, particularly the educated class, was affected by this clash.

COBISS.SI-ID: 1948371In the scope of the Norwegian financial mechanism dr. Klablan established cooperation with the Department of Political Science of the University of Oslo. As a part of this cooperation he was a guest lecturer at the seminar of European studies, where he presented the “short” Slovene 20th century emphasising the key events in the scope of the Slovenia becoming and developing as an independent state and attempted to present a synthesis at the 20th anniversary of the existence of Slovenia.

COBISS.SI-ID: 1873619Dr. Pelikan presided the 35th convention of the Union of Historical Societies of Slovenia focusing on migrations in the geographical area of Slovenia. Through introductory lectures and theme panels the convention provided an oversight of the state of the art in this research filed in Slovenia for the audience of teachers and professors at primary, secondary and tertiary level, museum and archive workers, as well as other experts and students. Apart from Pelican, Kalc and Bajc, members of the same programme group, were also among the participants of the convention.
B.01 Organiser of a scientific meeting
Dr. Lazar collected the contributions by authors who are studying contacts between Egypt and the geographical space of Slovenia in the light of historical and art-historical studies, while at the same time they include the first publications of archaeological sources to provide an insight into the heritage of Egypt in Slovenia. Research has shown that individuals, particularly the diplomats and missionaries have made an important contribution to the development of Egyptology, the study of the heritage of Egypt and the river Nile.

COBISS.SI-ID: 253781760The collection of scientific papers originates from the conference by the same name that took place in Piran in 2009. The volume exceeded the scope of a usual post-congress publication. It was supplemented with scientific articles that explain the legal basis for the preservation of cultural heritage in various states and use this basis to set examples of good practice concerning the preservation, revitalisation and, most importantly, of the presentation of cultural heritage.
