The scientific monograph was in 2009 the first one in Slovenia and the second one in the world, which was dedicated to the life and work of the neglected pre-March poet Anastasius Grün, Prešeren's contemporary, friend, politician, who lived between two languages (Slovenian and German) and several cultures. He was the supporter and patron, the translator of Slovenian folk poems into German. Fourteen authors (one third of the contributions were written by members of our research group) analyze the life and work of the politician, poet and translator from Carniola/Krain and present the reception of his creativity in Sloveni and in Europe, contextualizing him into the European cultural-historical framework. Mira Miladinović Zalaznik as the editor of the monograph also contributed a long interoductory study that puts Anastasius Grün into a new light and into Slovenian cultural and literary history.

COBISS.SI-ID: 246379520The monograph edited by a member of the programme group Neva Šlibar brings together 15 studies by Slovenian and foreign scientists about the life and work of the Austrian author Ingeborg Bachmann. It is characterized by new comparative and intetextual aspects of research; the contributions use new theoretical and philosophical approaches and deal with the question of the mediation of literature in an intercultural environment, as well as with the reception of translations from Ingeborg Bachmann. One third of the studies were written by the members of our research programme.

COBISS.SI-ID: 253840896This is an important contribution to Slovene national identity and recognition of cultural heritage, published in the beautiful book Z nitjo pisana zgodovina (History written by a thread (NMI 2012). It outlines methodological, conceptual and lexical problems that presented themselves in Tanja Žigon's research over several years of searching for archival sources on lace in Vienna, Innsbruck, Graz and Ljubljana. It also deals with the specific translation problems when translating from German into Slovene. The article is a thorough study of intercultural contacts between the 16th and 19th centuries, demonstrating excellent knowledge of culture-specific elements in a particular cultural and historical context, and thus it presents a companion to the translations which accompanied the lace exhibition in the Municipal Museum of Idrija in 2008. As Idrija is included in the UNESCO list of cultural heritage its significance is not only national, but global. The English translation of the volume was published in 2013 (Cobiss ID: 53584994).
F.29 Contribution to the development of national cultural identity
COBISS.SI-ID: 5076566628 authors, experts in the work by Joseph Roth on the international scales, of these six were members of the programme group, in an interdisciplinary and multicultural way scientifically analyzed the works and the sources about this Austrian writer. Roth was because of his origin and his inclinations especially intensively connected with the Jewish, but also German, Slavonic and Slovenian world. The monograph describes him as an author who dealt with intercultural themes and not only as a nostalgic witness of the Habsburg monarchy, as he has been viewed until recently. It posits him as a humanist, political person, a Paris emigré running away from nacism and an Austrian universalist of progressive ideas and visions.
F.02 Acquisition of new scientific knowledge
COBISS.SI-ID: 46735970During the 28th international literary festival in Vilenica 2013 the multinational Switzerland was in the centre of attention, with its literature that is being created in German, French, Italian and Rhaeto-Romance language, as well as the languages of many immigrants. The central work, an anthology of contemporary Swiss literature entitled Gluscht, which brought Switzerland closer to the visitors and interested public, was edited by Vesna Kondrič Horvat and was published in the series Antologije Vilenice by the Slovenian Writers' Association. The publication was made possible by the Slovenian Book Agency and Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia. The editor invited the most prominent Slovenian translators from all the mentioned languages to participate and in her introductory study she particularly emphasized the intercultural aspect of all the four Swiss literatures, with Eva Senica they also prepared a bibliography from the four Swiss languages translated into Slovenian. The publication of the book was accompanied by numerous well-publicized events and forums: in May 2013 the literary evening with two Swiss writers (Erica Pedretti, Raphael Urweider) in Cankarjev dom in Ljubljana and the Maribor University Library, in September with two authors in Maribor (Ilma Rakusa, Pietro De Marchi) and five authors in Cankarjev dom (Lukas Bärfuss, Arno Camenisch, Pietro De Marchi, Michel Layaz and Ilma Rakusa). In addition to this, the editor prepared a 40-minute literary evening for the national radio, which was broadcast on 12 September 2013 /COBISS.SI-ID 20340232/.
