For the last two centuries, Western philosophy has developed in the shadow of Hegel, whose influence each new thinker tries in vain to escape: whether in the name of the pre-rational Will, the social process of production, or the contingency of individual existence. Hegel's absolute idealism has become the bogeyman of philosophy, obscuring the fact that he is the dominant philosopher of the epochal historical transition to modernity; a period with which our own time shares startling similarities. Today, as global capitalism comes apart at the seams, we are entering a new transition. In "Less Than Nothing", the pinnacle publication of a distinguished career, Slavoj Zizek argues that it is imperative that we not simply return to Hegel but that we repeat and exceed his triumphs, overcoming his limitations by being even more Hegelian than the master himself. In A Voice and Nothing More Dolar goes beyond Derrida's idea of "phonocentrism" and revives and develops Lacan's claim that the voice is one of the paramount embodiments of the psychoanalytic object (objet a). Dolar proposes that, apart from the two commonly understood uses of the voice as a vehicle of meaning and as a source of aesthetic admiration, there is a third level of understanding: the voice as an object that can be seen as the lever of thought. He investigates the object voice on a number of different levels--the linguistics of the voice, the metaphysics of the voice, the ethics of the voice (with the voice of conscience), the paradoxical relation between the voice and the body, the politics of the voice--and he scrutinizes the uses of the voice in Freud and Kafka. With this foundational work, Dolar gives us a philosophically grounded theory of the voice as a Lacanian object-cause.

In the European Judeo-Christian tradition, soteriology has been understood exclusively as the doctrine of liberation through Jesus Christ. However, the Asian traditions addressed in this book instruct us of the different aspects of soteriology itself and its implications for our everyday life. The aim of the book was to explore the concept of impermanence and its usage in the basic human salvific project. It furthermore studies the notions of longevity, death, suicide and the limits of suicide prevention as well as 'voidness' of various meditative techniques that, by fastening the spirit, liberate the mind.

The researcher acted as an editor in the publication of Berlin’s famous lectures on The Roots of Romanticism. He contributed an afterword to this work where he discussed a new type of truth value specific to the romantic period, a truth distinguished by the sublation of the thing in itself and the institution of the place of enunciation, hence the two basic conditions to the formation of the public space.
