The monograph deals with the typology of pilgrimage churches in the Baroque period. In the beginning of the 17th Century pilgrimages got quite a different shape in comparison to the medieval ones. As a religious practice they culminated in the first half of the 18th century, only to disappeared for a while towards the end of the 18th century. They led to the construction of many churches which were often designed as copies of some already existing (pilgrimage) church. Therefore, the typological classification has been chosen as the main methodological approach. In this way, after a careful survey of archival sources, combined with field work and interpretation of historical data, the typologically most influential churches were determined among the 13 different types of churches. Moreover, the monograph discusses several important architects (e. g. Jožef Hoffer, Lovrenc Prager), brings many new observations on single churches and their building histories and is therefore a first step to a new general survey of Baroque architecture in Slovenia.

The article deals with problems of attribution in connection with Agostino di Duccio, one of the most important sculptors of the 15th century, operating in the Adriatic region, and partly focusses on the problem of his Venetian period. Based on a thorough analysis, the author assigns two sculptural works, so far associated with that artist (Paliotto di S. Trovaso, two female Saints on the altar in the chapel of Miani) to the Venetian Antonio Rizzo. The study also deals with the problem of Agostino’s successors in Emilia Romagna and attributes to one of them the relief of Virgin and the Child at London's Victoria & Albert Museum.
