This is an Italian translation of Wild Europe. The Balkans in the Gaze of Western Travellers, first published by Saqi Books, Londodn, in cooperation with The Bosnian Institute, London. In 2010 was published also an Albanian translation of the book.

The monograph bring contribution of Slovenian and Turkish academics who are discussing on ideological, political, economical and cultural factors that were instrumental in shapping of the image of 'the Turk' in various parts of Europe.
