The monograph is the first biography of Ivan Hribar, one of the leaders of neo-slavic movement before the First World War. The book systematically presents public work of Ivan Hribar and his activities in the fields of economy, politics, literature and private life. Special emphasis is on Hribar's international work (he paid visits to the president of Russian government, Count V. N. Kokovtsev, foreign minister S. D. Sazonov, Serb prime minister N. P. Pašić; ambassador to the Czecho-Slovak republic).

Biography of the rear admiral Jeffrey Raigersfeld is a unique contribution to the history of seamen with Slovenian family roots. The rear admiral Raigersfeld, who came from the Rakovec family, was the son of an Austrian diplomat in Great Britain where he entered the royal navy. In the era of the French Revolution and Napolenic wars he experienced a few failures but he nonetheless managed to obtain high places in the naval hierarchy.
