COBISS.SI-ID: 36227117This is the first edited volume to look at the relationship between emancipation and elimination (drawing on the cases from Central and East Europe) from the beginning of early modernisation to the second half of the 20th century. Notwithstanding their principles, the emancipatory movements, which focused on merely individual groups of people, gave an impression of exclusivity. This was characteristic for those whose ideologies called upon universalist ideas. Elimination was particularly strong in its relationship to the weaker strata of the population (maids, poor children).
