The study is a synthesis of the author's reflections on the comparative researches on the Slovenian and Russian space in the 16th century. Differences between the Orthodox and Catholic/Protestant understandings of the world were great, but the new concepts, related to the spirit of the Renaissance, found their way into the literary practice of both cultural-civilising practices.

The first focuses on the questions of ethno-genesis, life in pre-modern era and modernisation processes; the second gives an overview of the history of Europe in the Middle Ages, 16th and 17th centuries; the third gives a comparative perspective on the French (1789-1815), Russian (1905, 1917-1921) and German (1918-1919) revolutions.

The first concentrates on the legal systems that Slovenians encountered from the beginnings till today; the second highlights the paradigms of the agrarian history and shows constants and ruptures in the agrarian economy.
