The radio broadcast addressed the life and work of Fanny Haussmann, who was believed to be the first Slovenian female poet. The archival material from the University Library Maribor proves that poems, published under her name between 1848-49 in Ljubljana and Celje, are not her works. The most probable author is dr. Šubic. The mystification appeared due to the needs of the Slovenian national movement, which took on the role of the emancipatory movement and aspired to demonstrate its breadth through their inclusion of women.

COBISS.SI-ID: 33675821Around 1900 the world of Ljubljana bohemians, personified in the first informer about futurism in Slovenia, Vladimir Svetek, writer Vladimir Levstik and painters Fran Tratnik and Hinko Smrekar, undermines the stereotype about the backwardness of the Slovenian cultural scene when compared to the "happenings" in the "big world". Encounters of the elite, avantguardistic and popular cultures on the occasion of the visit of the circus Buffalo Bill in Trieste and Ljubljana offer new possibilities for many more comparisons, and set the Slovenian culture in the context of contemporary cultural trends in Europe.

COBISS.SI-ID: 33676077Ivan Tavčar's literary style represented a great novelty in the Slovenian cultural world. His early works, which differ greatly from his later ones, may be compared to the contemporary creativity in Vienna, especially in the recognition of death as the climax of life. Those ideas were later entirely evolved by the Viennese Modernity, but we also find them in one of Tavčar's later novels, i.e., Cvetje v jeseni. In spite of great differences between individual periods, the author's beginnings clearly underline his entire opus.
