The study is a synthesis of the author's reflections on the comparative researches on the Slovenian and Russian space in the 16th century. Differences between the Orthodox and Catholic/Protestant understandings of the world were great, but the new concepts, related to the spirit of the Renaissance, found their way into the literary practice of both culturalcivilising practices.

Notwithstanding their principles, the emancipatory movements, which focused on merely individual groups of people, gave an impression of exclusivity. This was characteristic for those whose ideologies called upon universalist ideas. Elimination was particularly strong in its relationship to the weaker strata of the population (maids, poor children).

The attachment of one part of Prekmurje to the Diocese of Zagreb created specific circumstances that affected the culture of Slovenians in the lands of the Crown of St Stephen. Supervision was particularly demanding due to the extremely varied linguistic landscape in Prekmurje and the centres, which influenced it.

Family, which was then an economic unit, retained its great significance not only in the intimate but also public sphere.
