The article discusses three paintings by Franz Ignaz Flurer (Augsburg, 1688–Graz, 1742), one of the leading Styrian artists in the first half of the 18th century. The paintings in the main altar of St. Peter's church in Malečnik, Delivery of the Keys to St. Peter and Conversion of Saul, were painted in 1737 for the ambitious and theologically educated parish priest Johann Baptist Sittich. In the article the painting of Christ, delivering the keys to St. Peter is accurately analysed, which by including the depiction of St. Michael and heavenly Jerusalem complements the pictorial tradition a great deal, as well as the Conversion of Saul after Rubens and The Fourteen Holy Helpers. The latter was the motive for the thorough research, as it was, when chosen for the exhibition How to Identify and Understand the Depicted – Subjects of Works of Art from Maribor, unattributed and insufficiently studied.

The article discusses the Parish Church of Sacred Heart of Jesus in Drežnica above Kobarid, which was build between 1911 and 1914 according to the plans of architect Hans Pascher. The author focuses on its place in the context of contemporary church architecture in Slovenia. The church in Drežnica is one of the most exquisite church buildings of late Historicism in Slovenia and is at the same time quite special with regards to Pascher's oeuvre. Pascher built a similar church in Brestanica, which has hitherto not been discussed; therefore, paper includes a detailed comparison of both buildings.

The contribution is the first concise survey of the Venetian architecture of the 18th century in Istria, Dalmatia and the Bay of Kotor. It brings the newest knowledge on the direct links between the Eastern Adriatic coast and Venice by the architectural commissions from the leading Venetian architects (Giovanni Scalfarotto, Giorgio Massari, Bernardino Maccaruzzi), on the dependence of local architects (e. g. the Dongetti family from Piran) on Massari's architectural models and on their direct connections with him, on the role of civil engineers, sent from Venice, in rebuilding settlements in Makarska and on the development of specific architectural forms (Macanović family) based upon traditional Venetian architecture.

The study, based on archival and field research of the artistic heritage of the Dob parish (in its present-day extent) is a detailed topographical analysis of four sacral monuments: the parish church of St. Martin and the succursal churches of St. Leonard at Krtina, St. Cantianus at Škocjan and Holy Trinity at Sveta Trojica. In addition to the Late-Gothic church of Krtina with its exceptional hall architecture and important frescoes special attention is devoted to the Baroque architecture of the churches of St. Martin and St. Cantianus, showing tight connectedness with the Ljubljana architect Candido Zulliani, and to the Baroque church furnishings. In the parish church altars from the Kranj workshop of Valentin Vrbnik are preserved; the provenance of the valuable main altar at Škocjan has also been revealed, which originates from the suppressed church of the Poor Clares in Ljubljana.

The monastery of the Discalced Augustinians, one of the most beautiful Baroque buildings in Ljubljana, was dissolved in 1786 with the decree of Joseph II., and, together with the church, transformed into a hospital. After the 1895 earthquake, the monastery was demolished. Based on archival sources (i.e. the Chronicle of the Discalced Augustinians, inventory records, auction records and architectural designs), the paper reconstructs the furnishings of the church and the monastery. Furthermore, several newly discovered pieces of furnishings, prints and drawings are added to the known legacy of the Discalced Augustinians. The findings include the identification of the altar painting Death of St. Joseph by Valentin Metzinger in Polhov Gradec with the main altar painting from the monastery, and a hypothesis that Johann Weichard Valvasor kept a preparatory drawing by Sebastian Verporto in his print collection (Iconotheca Valvasoriana), after which Verporto painted The Sorrowful Mother of God (1682) altar painting in the Totenkapelle of the monastery.
