The article deals with frescoes depicting Four Seasons and garden concert in the second floor of the south-east tower of Sevnica Castle. It is the first comprehensive study of these paintings. The scenes were painted after the reproductive prints by the Augsburg engraver Carl Remshardt after French graphics. Although there are no reliable sources about the patron, the painter or the time when the work in the tower-room was undertaken, research suggests that the frescoes were probably commissioned by Anton Joseph, Count of Auerspeg, from the Styrian painter Josef Georg Mayr around 1730.

The paper briefly presents characteristic iconographic themes in Baroque Ljubljana, which, on the one hand, are related particularly to the introduction of the cults of new saints or those who previously unknown in Carniola (e.g. Anthony of Padua, John Nepomuk, Philip Neri, etc.), and on the other hand, to the revival of the worship of old saints, especially those related to the ancient Aemona (Maxim of Aemona, Pelagius, etc.). Thus Baroque Ljubljana was an interesting network of universal and specifically local content, as well as a hub from which some of these spread to the countryside.
