The monograph presents a commented genealogical overview of 40 noble families in the Slov. territory who in the 19th/20th c. often obtained a noble title as a reward for their successful service in the military or state administration. Most of these families remained in the Slov. territory even after WW II. From a historiographical perspective, they have remained largely overlooked due to political circumstances of Slov. contemp. history. The book is compiled on the example of geneal. overviews of nobility published abroad, but provides a more extensive presentation of the families.

The critical publication of an important manuscript kept by the Styrian Provincial Archives in Graz makes up for the long-lasting lack of research in this scientific discipline. It is an important contribution to the historiography of cities in the Slovenian territory, especially the city of Celje. The publication will enable in-depth research in the field of Slovenian urban history and comparable research with the urban history of Central Europe.

The discussions deal with migrations in the Slovenian territory. The former focuses on the 3 phases of Muslim migration into the Slov. territory (from the 15th-17th century, the period until the Austro-Hungarian occupation of Bosnia-Herzegovina in 1878 and after it), and the latter focuses on the period of WWI, which spurred the migration flows of military and civilian population. It presents cases of mass wartime migrations from the Slov. territory that have so far not been given appropriate attention by migration studies. The theme is treated comparatively in relation to European experiences

Humanism and Renaissance historiography represented the peak of Friuli historiography, which is almost unknown to the Slovenes, even though it also deals with the territory of the present-day Slovenian state. Historiographical works dealt with the past of the states, provinces, duchies, cities and prominent lay and ecclesiastical figures. Provincial historiography was gaining in importance, while the ecclesiastical historiography experienced its greatest progress during the Reformation. This period witnessed the emergence of authors who devoted their attention to various economic developments.
