The text-critical edition of 436 published documents dating back to the 15th century completes the medieval corpus of charters from the private archives of the Carniolan comital and princely branches of the Auersperg family (Turjak), which remained in the Turjak Castle archives until 1942. Today, the documents are kept outside the Slovenian territory. The charters are published in their entirety, accompanied by Slovenian regesta and completed with a comprehensive index of names and illustrations of seals from charters.

Piran Branch Office of the Regional Archives of Koper keeps seventeen notary fascicles and fragments thereof in its medieval holdings. The fragments of five notary fascicles, which are the subject of the scientific-critical edition, contain concise records of business agreements between the inhabitants of Piran during a fifteen-year period seven centuries ago. The records are objective and reliable, shedding light on the business practice of the time followed by trading companies through hire purchase, money loans, hiring oneself out, real estate sales or lease, etc.

Most medieval towns did not emerge with a single foundation act and town charter. Nor did their history begin only in the 12th–13th century, when towns became also a legal category. Non-agrarian settlement centres representing early development stages in the history of towns can be traced back to earlier date, although we are often inclined to merely consider them as their “pre-history”. Employing a comparative approach, the study investigates these early forms of medieval non-agrarian settlements in the Slovenian territory on the cases of Ptuj, Slovenj Gradec, Kranj, Škofja Loka and Gorica.

The edition of thirty-six oath texts from the period before the 19th century provides a complete selection of Slovenian oaths of city authorities. Most of them are oaths of office, the greater part originating from Carniola, mostly Ljubljana. Texts are presented in facsimile of the original documents, accompanied by transcriptions in original language and modern for contemporary readers. This is the first presentation of this specific preserved official Slovenian language, providing an account of the place the Slovenian had in administrative procedures from the end of the Middle Ages onwards.
