In November 2011, Miha Preinfalk organised a momentous interdisciplinary symposium on the significance of castles in the Slovenian territory. On his initiative, twenty-four distinguished experts in various scientific disciplines presented the roles that castle buildings have played throughout history. The originality of the idea was precisely in its interdisciplinary, as it was demonstrated that castles belong not only to the domain of the humanities and architecture, but that nearly every scientific discipline can add its share to the studies of castles. The symposium was covered by numerous media and accompanied by an exhibition produced in collaboration with the Slovenian National Museum. The activity continues with a series of roundtables on the destinies of some castle buildings. So far four such events have taken place in 2013 and 2014.

Under his editorship, Kronika also produces each year a thematic issue covering an individual region or castle in Slovenia. These issues attract interest from the public and the media. 2009, for instance, saw the release of the issue titled “Iz zgodovine gradu Tuštanj pri Moravčah” [From the History of the Tuštanj Castle near Moravče], in which the public was given the first scholarly presentation of the said castle, while the discovery and arrangement of the castle archives have turned out to be of even greater importance for further research.
