In 1591 a Neo-Platonist philosopher Francesco Patrizi in Nova de universis philosophia wrote the first critical note on Tycho Brahe’s new geo-heliocentric planetary system, developed in De mundi aetherei recentioribus phaenomenis (1588). Study focuses on three questions: how it happened that Patrizi completely overlooked one of the crucial achievements of Brahe’s book (fluid heaven theory), secondly, what he proposed in order to save the universe from Chaos brought about by astronomy (including Copernicus’), and thirdly, how astronomers (Brahe, Kepler) responded to his criticism.

The scientific article proposes a new and original analysis of the difficult and often controversial psychoanalytical notion of sexual difference. It investigates its relevance from different perspectives and shows that in the today predominant substitution of the notion “sex” (and sexual difference) with the notion of “gender” (and of gender differences) something crucial gets lost: namely a most important psychoanalytic insight which also has far-reaching consequences for philosophy, and especially for philosophical ontology.

The author analyses a problem that has appeared when discussing modernism since after the war Soviet constructivism influenced Western neo-avant-gardes: what is the relationship between “Western” and “Eastern” modernism? The past view was that modernism of the East is propaganda (and therefore non-art) while the view of the East was that eastern modernism is an ignored variety of universal modernism. The author shares this latter view but believes that the process of affirmation of this hypothesis is only at its beginning.
