This paper in contemporary society describes the actual state of leadership in Slovenia and gives recommendations for employee friendly leadership, therefore highlighting the need for operationalization of new approach, that is based on positive organizational behaviour. Paper was presented as invited lecture at the 29. international conference on development of organizational sciences with the title "Human being and organization", which stated the meaning of employees in organizations and offered an opportunity for transfering experiences among business and academic environment.

COBISS.SI-ID: 19224294The relation between understanding and knowing the coworkers views and social networks as determinants of individual’s power is in our opinion of great importance to employees all over the world. Power represents the ability to implement one’s will and to resist unwanted in?uence in return. We recognized certain influence of these abilities on individual’s perception of power and we also recognized through our study that individuals who occupy higher hierarchical positions in organizations are also better at understanding their coworkers.
