The article highline the problems of security sector reform in Bosnia and Herzegovina with the special emphasis on the Slovene contribution that goes from diplomatic involvement and support to the police missions in the field. The author underlined different experiences of Slovene police and based on that offers some solutions for further implementation of security sector reform in BiH.

The article presents that particular part of data that is connected to the activities of the units and relations inside the military units. The data analysis shows that the units are well prepared to the military aspects of the mission but not enough prepared to other aspects as political and historical circumstances, local traditions and customs, and also poorly prepared in the use of foreign languages.

Transformation caused pre-modern peace operations to transform into interest based and value burdened activity. Article presents main characteristics of the transformation and consequences it had on operations. The latter are mainly reflected in the rule of liberal-democratic paradigm, which gave way to national interests and goals of the nations states taking part in those operations. These lead countries, also Slovenia, to create national policy of participation in peace operations.

The article pays special attention to Slovenia and its approach to a club of (technologically) highly developed countries. We also draw attention to mistakes that occurred and continue to occur in the implementation in transformation of the Slovenian Armed Forces. We notice principally the problem of technological determinism along with simultaneous negligence of the human factor.
