COBISS.SI-ID: 29909085The Intergenerational Solidarity in Slovenia research focused on the sources of intergenerational solidarity in social support networks. In the paper we presented the methodological problems related to use of secondary data. The article presents the definition of intergenerational solidarity in social network, and the solutions to the methodological problems at implementing the concept of intergenerational solidarity. We show that the approaches used for the operational definition lead to an appropriate estimate of intergenerational solidarity in social support networks.

COBISS.SI-ID: 29251677The paper brings some of the key results of the DEMHOW project, based on 240 interviews in 8 European countries. Examining households’ perceptions of old age security the focus is on households’ strategies and on how they seek the balance between governennt, the market and the family in their provision for old age conserning housing, pension income and care. The results indicate that the housing equity will most probably become a more important piece in the old-age security puzzle of younger cohorts.
