An international, interprofessional and IT supported undergraduate course in palliative care for Swedish and Slovenian students of health and psycho-social care has been developed and implemented. It enabled students to get to know other professions and becoming able to work together. Cultural differences between Sweden and Slovenia came to the fore regarding teamwork and relations between professions and towards patient.

OPCARE9 EU FP7 project, uniting researchers and clinicians from nine countries, is aimed at looking into what is going on in the last days of life of patients with cancer. It examines the demographic trends, intergenerational contract, analysis of social networks of the elderly, the role of local community and neighbors in the lives of the older people and the significance of social networks for the health of the older people.
