This is the first national prevalence and incidence survey on domestic violence in Slovenia. The sample was representative and national and results can be compared with similar surveys in Europe. Findings show more psychological violence and nearly the same extant of physical and sexual violence. We also researched economic violence and violation of personal freedom, where we found new results taht were not known previously. Survey was presented at the Government press room with over 20 media that extensively reported on the results.

The main topic was the EU policy that is quite determine in emphasising eradication of poverty and social exclusion but at the same time adopts economic measures that influence the raise in poverty. This double policy influences governments that focus mostly on the economy and neglect the problems in relation to poverty. Consequently data shows that poverty is in raise even in times of high economic growth what show in inadequate redistribution of wealth.
B.04 Guest lecture
COBISS.SI-ID: 3478885The GOETE project will analyse the role of school in re-conceptualising education in terms of lifelong learning by combining a life course and a governance perspective. The study covers the period from transition into lower secondary education to transition into upper secondary education/vocational education and training, i.e. the age group between 10 and 16 years. Comparative analysis will focus on the regulation of access to education, of support measures for coping with education and of securing the relevance of education for social integration and the labour market.

MOSA has built four databases related to alcohol issue in Slovenia: research projects, prevention and promotion programs, actors related to the work with the alcohol issue in Slovenia, understanding of alcohol policy among the most relevant stakeholders in Slovenia. MOSA has designed and launched an interactive webpage (www.infomosa.si). MOSA was also co-organizer of the 1st National alcohol policy conference.

COBISS.SI-ID: 30274653Guest lecture in summer school that was organized by members of our research group. The summer school explored the role of young people within social change. It was based on the findings of a EU-funded research project “UP2YOUTH: Youth – Actor of Social Change” and was analyzing young people’s agency under conditions of de-standardised life courses and assesses existing policies and practices to what extent they empower young people to contribute to social change. Focus was on the issues of transitions to adulthood and participation.
