The results of the use of Global Navigation Satellite Systems were presented in an invited lecture at foreign international conference, which was attended by almost 4000 professionals in the field of metrology. A variety of potential uses were presented such as: synchronization with the inertial motion capture suit and time measurements. All approaches are also used in the current project.

COBISS.SI-ID: 4268209The usability of Global Satellite Navigation System has been rapidly increasing lately. This study showed a new methodology how to compare mechanical parameters among athletes recorded by the GNSS system. As an illustrative example velocity in alpine skiing was used, this was synchronized between each pair of consecutive gates. The same new methodology is used in our on-going project.

COBISS.SI-ID: 4267697Lecture “Athletic career” that was carried out at the Foro Italico University in Rome referred to the theoretical aspects of the sports career development. Different theoretical models of career development were presented, with the emphasis on the model from Lavallee and Wylleman. All four levels of different developmental stages were presented. The description of the developmental phases were based on the results of newer empirical studies from mostly European authors.

COBISS.SI-ID: 4192177The changes in the speed of individual of turns varies from approximately 1 to 5 km/h. The results show that the durations of phases from basic to top elements decrease, whereas the speeds of skiing increase. The beginners monitor the demonstration is more easily when the time span between different motor action is longer and the speeds lower.

COBISS.SI-ID: 4181425In 2012, we published three issues of Science of Gymnastics Journal and published 20 scientific articles, author's articles came from Slovenia, Brazil, Portugal, Greece, United States, Croatia, Germany, Great Britain, Canada, Spain, Italy, Slovakia, Japan and Tunisia, a total of 14 countries. We had 18723 journal's web site visitors. We have also been cited in Scopus and Web of Knowledge database, where we currently have 26 citations, thus expanding the influence of journal in science and not only expert field. In 2012 we joined the editorial processes of modernization and since October we have a ScholarOne Manuscript, as we will allow faster, more transparent work by the authors as well as reviewers. The greatest achievement is the signing of a contract for inclusion of the journal from 2012 and advance in the Scopus database.
