EMAC Conference is the largest scientific conference in Europe in the field of marketing. It provides an yearly forum for the presentation and discussion of research projects in various stages of development. Faculty of Economics, University of Ljubljana hosted in 2011 the 40th annual conference with more than 700 international participants.
B.01 Organiser of a scientific meeting
During the 1 and 4 July 2013 Faculty of Economics in Ljubljana organised IATE 2013 Conference (International Association for Tourism Economics 2013 Conference), which is the leading international conference in the field of Tourism Economics. Conference program manager was Prof. Dr. Tanja Mihalič. More than 120 participants from around the world had a chance to present their papers and participate in discussions in various sessions organised throughout the whole week.

COBISS.SI-ID: 267729408Dr. Hrovatin was a co-editor of an international journal Economic and business review (EBR) until 2010 and dr. Drnovšek has been a co-editor since 2010. From 2010 dr. Dmitrović, dr. Hrovatin and dr. Zorić are members of the editorial board of EBR. Dr. Mihalič is a member of the editorial boards of Journal of travel research and European journal of tourism research. Dr. Malačič is a member of the editorial board of an international Journal of immigrant & refugee studies and dr. Tajnikar is a member of the editorial board of South East European journal of economics and business.
C.04 Editorial board of an international magazine
Dr. Hrovatin received a Tempus grant for the preparation of the "Joint master program on public sector and environmental economics" in the period 2007-2010. Other partners in the project were the University of Sarajevo and the University of Nice. The aim was to establish the joint master's program with three modules: economics of public sector, management of public sector and environmental and natural resource economics. In the study year 2009/2010 the first generation of students was enrolled, while in 2013/14 the fifth generation enrolled in the program.
D.01 Chairing over/coordinating (international and national) projects
In 2010 International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in Geneva published a study titled 'Measuring the Information Society 2010'. Chapter 3 (pp. 43 – 52) on measuring a digital divide includes the analysis based on time distance method developed by dr. Sicherl. In this joint work by SICENTER and ITU a comparison of 3 ICT indicators for world regions and penetration rate of mobile telephones for 200 countries based on a time distance indicator is provided. This represents an important application of a new method proposed by dr. Sicherl at the world level.
