This paper is representative for that activity of the Educational Research Institute, in which the conceptual work of the programme group interlaces with educational practice. In the paper, that was presented at the international conference of rhetoric in Copenhagen we analysed the role that rhetoric and argumentation play in the contemporary Slovenian education as well as we pointed out the importance of a systematic and holistic incorporation of rhetoric and argumentation in the educational practice.

COBISS.SI-ID: 2467415This is an example of the work of the open access Digital Library of the Educational Research Institute (Dr. Igor Žagar is editor in chief), which is one of result of the operation of the program group and, among other things, allows rapid implementation of the research results among the professional and general public. In the year 2013 eight books were published in this edition. The book, which is pointed out here, raises questions about informal learning. The theme of this monograph is broad. The authors are anthropologists, sociologists, philosophers, educators, andragogues, journalists, historians of pedagogy and education; hence the reaches to at first sight remote areas. However, this is exactly what builds new knowledge about non-formal learning and provides a basis for a meaningful use of concepts.

The original well-intentioned ideas in the context of early multiculturalism has proved to be insufficient. The activities, guided by dr. Tatjana Vonta, develop an action research and dissemination of models, which are increasingly seen also in the whole region of the Western Balkans and Central Europe.

COBISS.SI-ID: 2599255The contribution illustrates the greater consultation, organized by the Educational Research Institute that was prepared within the framework of the project "make lifelong learning opportunities for all accessible." Consultation with different theoretical and research perspectives highlighted problems of underperforming adolescents in the Slovenian educational environment and in a joint debate highlighted different approaches to improve their academic performance.

This is one example of membership in the editorial board of scientific journals. Among the members of the editorial boards of international and Slovenian journals are: Eva Klemenčič, Marjan Šimenc, Igor Žagar, Zdenko Kodelja Jana Žmavc and the late Janez Justin. In addition, members of the program group were also in 2013 editors and co-editors of a dozen individual publications, journals, etc.
