The monograph brings the results of evaluation study, whose central aim was to assess the curriculum for civic and patriotic education and ethics from year 2008. It also focused on the connected curriculum for civic education and ethics and the curriculum for syllabus »society«. Several analyses were performed for a basis for this evaluation. Monograph synthesizes long years of research work and dissemination in the field of modern civic education. The Educational Research Institute began working in this field among the first, if not the first in Slovenia, before the social democratic changes in the late eighties.
F.02 Acquisition of new scientific knowledge
COBISS.SI-ID: 264888320The author identifies several problems that render current mainstream "equity research" rather insufficient and may cause it to work against equality in education. The following are some of the problems encountered: too narrow a focus on the issue of achievement; too narrow a definition and too rigid a vision of the category “"female"; and the lack of reflexivity that stems from conceptual insufficiency (and quite possibly from ignoring the findings of feminist theory). Another important issue is the question of which methodological tools to use (the predominant positivist paradigm). The author has chosen to opt to commit to a responsible discourse.

The study responds to a variety of initiatives, which should contribute to ensuring equal opportunities in the context of quality early childhood education, which contributes to the development of the necessary skills. Finally, it is increasingly recognized that high quality early childhood education is the basis of the future competitiveness of societies.

COBISS.SI-ID: 2351703Systematic presentation and study of design and transformation of the platform for higher education and scientific research policy, which was then adopted, in May 2011, in the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia as the National Programme of Higher Education and Research and Innovation Strategy of Slovenia. We cite this achievement as an example of involvement of researchers of the programme research group in the social events and developments.
D.08 Management and development of research activities
COBISS.SI-ID: 2395735The paper presents a qualified view on the language rights in Slovenia. As the presentation on the European level it gave a precise insight to international experts in the Slovenian language situation. The Republic of Slovenia has adopted the language spoken by the majority as official language, that is, the Slovenian is the language of government, schools, bureaucracy, and so on, just as many other countries have done. Slovenia has also expressed a particular interest towards the Italian and Hungarian national minorities and their languages, because these two minorities have been constitutionally recognized (as 'autochthonous' national minorities). Special language and other minority rights are granted to the Roma minority as well, by the Roma Community Act (2007).
