The paper describes the development of a cost-effective, efficient web based solution for job-shop scheduling in small and medium enterprises with an emphasis on accessibility and ease of use. The solution enables dynamic scheduling on the basis of genetic algorithms. The solution also covers the five main functionalities that completely support the scheduling process: making an inventory of resources available in the company, using it in the process of production planning, collecting data on production activities, distribution of up-to-date information and insight over events in the system.
F.23 Development of new system-wide, normative and programme solutions, and methods
COBISS.SI-ID: 6661395Web based decision support information system was developed to support the purchasing logistics with a goal of optimizing inventory control and reducing costs. User interface was implemented on Apache web server with web programming languages PHP and Java Script. System is supported by MS SQL Server 2008 database. Inventory control computational core was implemented with C# programming language and is based on simulation model and inventory control algorithms.

COBISS.SI-ID: 6626323The document describes in detail the process of utilization of a simulation system for decision support in purchasing logistics. Described is a system of choice of products and simulation input parameters, an overview of different simulation results, and the process of generating one’s own inventory control strategies. All the above contributes to the effective use of a decision support system and consequently, to improve inventory management and lower the cost of purchasing logistics.
F.17 Transfer of existing technologies, know-how, methods and procedures into practice
COBISS.SI-ID: 6626579The paper explicates the use of system dynamics simulator in support of learning about complex management problems in a virtual learning environment. The results of experiment show that experiment students (using simulator) agree that application of the simulation model contribute to a better problem understanding, faster problem solving and greater confidence of participants. Also they performed better in final exam compared to the control group (no simulator).

COBISS.SI-ID: 6656531Optimization of business processes in the field of health administration in the UKC LJ and assessment of the potential benefits was carried out in Internal Clinic and Gynecological Clinic. Detailed analysis with simulation models showed that the studied indicators are more favorable in the case of joint implementation of administrative processes. The main benefits are: higher quality of services for patients, simplified processes management, better working conditions for employees, less possibility of errors and all of the above can be achieved without significant investment.
