The workshop was organised by European Medical Agency in London 2009. The workshop gethered beekeeping experts, veterinarians, representatives from Member States, the EC, and animal health industry. Dr. Jencic was with the lecture Overview of fish diseases and their treatment options one of the key lectures and contributed on providing an analysis of the current situation, by identifying the critical diseases in the beekeeping sector, discussing the option for treatment, and weather the available options for treatment are sufficient, and providing possible reasons for lack of treatment options
B.04 Guest lecture
COBISS.SI-ID: 3173498The contribution describes the spatial, floristic, soil and sward productive characteristics of high karst area. Listed are suitable forms of grassland use on karst pastures, analysed are nutrients in the soil and requirements for proper control grazing management of domestic animals on karst are given. We managed as leading authors to embrace above mentioned landscape where agriculture and forestry should work together from a scientific as well as from professional aspect. The findings could have important role in future agroforestry activities in this part of Slovenia.

COBISS.SI-ID: 5754489The aim of our study was to compare efficacy of different IBDV vaccination programmes using intermediate strain vaccines, intermediate plus vaccine and a turkey herpes virus -IBD vector vaccine. The effectiveness was measured by immune response after vaccination with different IBDV, detection of field infection and production results. Vaccination programs seemed to be effective in inducing immunity against IBDV, although infection with field strain of IBDV was confirmed.
B.03 Paper at an international scientific conference
COBISS.SI-ID: 3132026Activities organised during European veterinary week were prepared in member states in 2009 under key slogan ANIMALS+HUMANS = ONE HEALTH. The role of veterinary institutions is to present to professional and general public the meaning of the concept of "One health". The message is that animal diseases have increasing impact on human health and that high standard of animal health has a positive influence to human health and wellfare of consumers. The main two topics of the European veterinary week as well as Veterinary week in Slovenia were rabies and transmissible spongiform encephalopathies.

COBISS.SI-ID: 247726592The textbook is mainly intended for the veterinary students and veterinary practitioners being engaged in the health problems of herds; anyway, it will be useful also for other experts working in the area of animal production. The subject is divided into ten chapters dealing with individual parts of nutritional pathology.
