The coating procedure of clay roofing tiles was obtained using a simple spraying technique of a laboratory made TiO2 suspension, followed by a thermal treatment. The grain size of TiO2 and its crystal form were the main characteristics of the designed suspensions. The tile samples were studied in their progressive ageing with exposure to water rinsing procedure. The photocatalytic activity of the coatings was determined by newly developed reactor method in gas medium, while the superhydrophilic properties were obtained based on the measurements of the water contact angle.

COBISS.SI-ID: 1617767The potential of the use of EAF dust in cement composites in civil engineering was critically evaluated. The results of the leaching test indicated that during the course of the experiment total Cr and Cr(VI) were not leached with water. The leaching of Cr and Cr(VI) in salt water was moderate, but the concentrations did not represent environmental hazards. Experimental data indicated that leaching of Cr originated primarily from cement and that more than 90 % of total Cr existed in its hexavalent form.

COBISS.SI-ID: 22239271The possibilities for use of different waste materials for the production of lightweight aggregate (LWA) by high temperature process were studied. The second mechanism is a foaming process, applicable to glassy matrix where a selected foaming agent degasses at elevated temperature, and the resulting gasses remain trapped in the glassy structure. Both mechanisms were studied on laboratory scale using waste glass, silica sludge, paper mud, paper sludge and polishing residue to obtain LWA.

COBISS.SI-ID: 1507175In the European standard for structural assessment and retrofit of buildings, procedures are recommended and values ofparameters needed in redesign are specified. However, the standard includes inconsistences and unnacceptable requirements regarding the architectural heritage buildings. On the basis of experimental and analytical research, additional recommendations have been proposed to relax the code requirements: relatively simple strengthening measures prevent excessive damage and collapse of such buildings, if adequately applied.

COBISS.SI-ID: 1557863Stress-strain response of cyclic loaded soil forms hysteresis loops. The area and slope of a single loop determine the amount of energy being dissipated during the loading. In the case of cyclic loaded of fully saturated soil it has been discovered that the amount of dissipated energy is closely related to the evolution of the pore water pressure. This increased pore water pressure was divided into two parts: the temporary pore pressure change and the residual pore pressure change. For each of them the exact correlation to dissipated energy during the cyclic loading was determined.
