The sufficient conditions for convergence of elements AGQ6 are established and the rate of convergence proved. It is also shown how the theoretical results may help in designing the optimal mesh. The results of some characteristic engineering examples completely confirm the theoretical findings.

COBISS.SI-ID: 4775521A coupled model to describe slow transient phenomena involving heat and mass transport and pore pressure increase in concrete is employed in the analysis of a composite concrete-trapezoidal steel plate slab-like structures subjected to intensive heating, simulating fire conditions. The analysis proves that the steel plate has a huge effect on the pore pressure and water vapor distributions in the composite slab, while its effect on temperature is negligible.

COBISS.SI-ID: 4756577The present dissertation discusses the effects of slip and moisture transfer on the mechanical behaviour of a planar steel--concrete composite beam subject to fire conditions. The moisture and heat transfer during fire, and slip between the steel and concrete layers is considered. A strain-based finite element formulation of the planar beam is used in the mechanical analysis.

COBISS.SI-ID: 4554081The data on movements and rainfall for the Macesnik earthflow in Northern Slovenia are collected and arranged in a form suitable to train the artificial neural network. It is shown that trained ANN is able to accurately predict future movements of the earthflow based on meteorological rainfall predictions thus being a powerful tool for the local authorities.
