A compact CMOS implementation of the master-slave register pair with common clock is presented. The built-in latency time, defined by the clock pulse width allows large clock skewing at the expense of clock cycle time reduction.

Magnetic microsystems that measure position are a good alternative to older mechanical solutions. Magnetic microsystem usually consists only of an ASIC (application specific integrated circuit) and a permanent magnet. The setup is simple and requires no mechanical contacts or switches. The whole setup is usually relatively small and cheap. In the paper several solutions for measuring the position with magnetic microsystems are presented. The mathematical model is built for each. Some solutions are already integrated in ASICs that are used in the industry.

The paper presents architecture, design, modeling and implementation of low-noise signal processing electronics needed to implement high-resolution MEMS/NEMS based capacitive sensors interfaces, which can be used for chemical/biological sensor interface. With proposed architecture, it is possible to sense a capacitance difference smaller than 0.5aF/?Hz on a 2pF feedback capacitors with SnR (1Hz) better than 134dB.

A flash interpolation circuit converts a pair of periodic and orthogonal sine-signals into a stream of periodic – phase shifted sinusoidal signals, the amplitudes of which can be combined to produce useful information about the peak amplitude of the input sine-signals, independently of the signal’s frequency. An interpolation factor of 4 is shown to be sufficient for measuring amplitudes with an accuracy of 5.8 %. The interpolator architecture, combined with an amplitude measuring system, has been designed, integrated as a part of the interpolator ASIC.
