Recording knowledge in a common framework that would make it possible to share global knowledge remains an important challenge for researchers. This book examines several ideas about the representation of knowledge addressing this challenge. A widespread general agreement is followed that states uniform knowledge representation should be achievable by using ontologies populated with concepts. The main use of recorded knowledge by software agents is to support intelligent behavior essential for solving problems. An example of a system which makes use of knowledge representation are dialog systems, which support the human-computer interaction.

COBISS.SI-ID: 9973844The subject of this invention is a measurement method and device for selective and non-invasive determination of biomechanical, contractile and viscoelastic properties (BCVP) of skeletal muscles, muscle parts, tendons and ligaments (subjects of measurements) performed in situ (examine the phenomenon exactly in place where it occurs) by measuring the force at the skin surface above the subject of measurement. The essential parts included of the measurement device include a measurement sensor with a suitably shaped sensor tip, a microprocessor and a supporting part. The innovative measurement device is shaped in such a way that when positioned on the skin surface, the sensor tip is pressed into the skin. Any suitable force or pressure meter can be used to measure the force at the skin surface above the subject of measurement, where the sensor tip position is not affected by the measuring force.

COBISS.SI-ID: 9901908The invention is a method for quality of experience (QoE) assurance in multiuser mobile and wireless OFDM communications systems. The technical challenge solved with this method is optimized QoE assurance by means of dynamic allocation of available resources on transmission unit to all users of the mobile or wireless OFDM communications system. A method is proposed for dynamic subcarrier and power allocation that assures an appropriate QoE level while maximizing multiuser OFMD system throughput.

COBISS.SI-ID: 9705300A method for 4G node frequency selection describes a mechanism for automatically selecting the frequency of a newly installed base station, thereby optimizing the throughput per area unit of the newly installed base station in its predefined vicinity area. The method is based on an iterative calculation approach, which combines realworld network and base station measurements information with the nominal specifications of the newly installed base station (antenna diagram, output power) and the location and direction thereof.

COBISS.SI-ID: 9627732There are some important socially economic results in connection with the invited paper of dr. Arpad Buermen, presented in Italy. The circuit designer community has shown an interest in our simulator independent optimization tool which is based on a Python library. So we have set up a respective webpage named PyOPUS which is freely available at http://fides.fe.uni-lj.si/pyopus/. A few months after its introduction we have already had significant feedback. In future we will certainly improve this platform.
