Four algorithms for integration of shell elastoplastic constitutive equations are derived for the case that constitutive equations are given in terms of stress resultants and yield criterion is multi-surface. It turns out that the most simple algorithm is surprisingly robust and effective.

A finite element for failure analysis of reinforced concrete beams and frames is derived. When material of cross-section fails, a model introduces softening plastic hinge that is related to embedded discontinuity in rotation, which makes the formulation mesh independent.

This design-based research study was conducted to identify how students, including those with low fine motor skills and those with learning difficulties, develop geometry concepts when learning by tangible user interface (TUI) combining cognitive and physical representations. A relationship between diverse students' needs and geometry concept learning in relation to computer-supported learning by TUIwas discovered. Two dimensions were identified: (1) TUIs support concept development, with physical and virtual representations based on dynamic geometry assisted by TUI; (2) TUI manipulative properties support students who have low motor skills and difficulties in their geometry learning as well as in their inclusion in classroom activities.

A web-based methodology for the prediction of approximate incremental dynamic analysis (IDA) curves has been presented and illustrated by an innovative web application for the prediction of the approximate IDA curves of RC structures. The advantage of the proposed methodology in comparison to the traditional approaches that are used for the determination of the approximate seismic response of structures can be found in the systematic separation of the process of parametric study and the process of the prediction of approximate IDA curves.

The paper gives a theoretical overview on process reuse withing 5D modelling. Concepts, second order logic formal definitions, and possible technical solutions are proposed for (1) the reuse of business processes in ‘collaborative product development’ and (2) the reuse of related models and data embedded in 5D models of products.
