Developed process for application of the temperature shock on Saccharomyces cerevisiae wine yeast inoculum for increasing the glycerol in grape must alcohol fermentation was patented. Temperature shock on the inoculum of wine yeast suspension cells at 45 ° C enables selection that the survived cells posses the ability for balancing their redox potential state producing up to 100% higher ammount of glycerol - redox protective substance that significantly contributes to higher quality wines

COBISS.SI-ID: 33557509The main emphasis in the field of research of UV crosslinkable acrylic adhesives in year 2011 was given to research of continuous polymerization process employing bulk radical polymerization process and to the synthesis of UV crosslinkable acrylic adhesives with added carbon nanotubes. In the first part of research, chemical parameters such as reaction mixture composition for synthesis of suitable prepolymer viscosity and as well for suitable adhesive properties were determined. Additionally, we measured key rheological parameters of synthesized prepolymers, which are highly important for industrial applications. Secondly, the process parameters, such as pipe reactor dimensions and residence time of polymer mixture in reactor for optimal prepolymer properties were optimized. We also employed Design of experiments method in the research of UV crosslinkable acrylic pressure sensitive adhesives study, where the main emphasis was devoted to variable chemical parameters in continuous polymerization process. By employment of different statistical methods, the influence and mutual influence of studied factors on prepolymer viscosity, conversion, cohesion and adhesive properties were determined. In the last part of research, nanocomposite UV crosslinkable adhesives with addition of differently functionalized carbon nanotubes were synthesized. It this study, the prepolymers were synthesized using a batch polymerization process. The result of the study enables the development of new technology and new products. Part of the research was published in: KAJTNA, Jernej, KRAJNC, Matjaž. Solventless UV crosslinkable acrylic pressure sensitive adhesives. Int. j. adhes. adhes..
