The analysis showed a qualitative similarity of the level of abrasion of concrete between laboratory simulations and measurements in the field, as well as suitability of the ASTM C1138 laboratory method for the assessment of abrasion resistance of concretes in the spillways of the HPP chain on the Lower Sava River. The basic composition of concretes was modified by different additives. The quantitative comparison of results for the concrete at 900 days showed a good correlation between the laboratory measurements and measurements in the natural environment.

Seven transformation products of carbamazepine (antiepileptic, analgesic, sedative drug) generated by at least one of three common water treatment technologies: UV-radiation, oxidation with chlorine dioxide and biological treatment with activated sludge, were identified by complementary use of three mass analysers. This study also compared the treatment technologies according to the removal of carbamazepine, and the production and decay of its transformation products, and proposed a coupled treatment that could satisfactorily remove both the parent compound and transformation products.

An experimental study of suspension flow patterns and velocity field inside a circular settling tank with continuous operation was done. Research was focused on the impact of a specific flow pattern on the sedimentation efficiency of the prototype settling tank. The flow field and local suspension concentration was determined by computer-aided visualization, and the obtained results in terms of velocity fields can serve as a basis for numerical simulations and optimization of settling tanks of the type.

We examined use of fibre reinforced shotcrete as the only material for the primary tunnel lining in flysch. The interaction between such a lining and the surrounding rock was monitored in a 60 m long test section of the 10 m diameter Dekani motorway tunnel. We developed a new mix of steel and polypropylene fibres and shotcrete and performed laboratory tests of strength, stiffness and post-crack strength. The fibre reinforced shotcrete was used for the primary lining in a 410 m long tunnel section. Significant savings were made without compromising the quality of the tunnel.

We found that the greatest load of Cerknica lake is caused by agriculture, which produces 85 % of phosphorus and 87 % of nitrogen, another important part of load comes from urban areas, which produce 14 % of phosphorus and 12 % of nitrogen. Industry produces only 1 % of phosphorus and nitrogen loading of the lake. Comparison of nitrogen and phosphorus concentrations calculated from load of catchment area and measurements of concentration in inflows and in lake indicate that most of the nutrients accumulate in the lake.
