Due to great difficulties in measuring cavitation erosion effects most of the studies deals with incubation period only, while further predictions are extrapolated. Our experiment confirmed simple connection between final degree of damage and initial damage in incubation period. By this, a transfer from laboratory scale to real time is possible and results from short tests can be applied to given machine expected life span.

Analysis of ineraction between inside and outside flow around hollow NACA airfoil was done, based on velocity and turbulence intensity measurements and supported with visualization. Results were by analogy applied to axial fan where inside flow was intruduced due to hollow rotating blades. The effect were diminished recirculation and improved aerodynamic characteristics of the fan. By this, higher efficiency was obtained over the whole operating range.

The paper provides analyticall framework for analyzing energy conversion efficiency and energy flows in hybrid powertrains including plug-in hybrids. Analytical framework efficiently supports optimizations during development phases of the hybrid powertrains, whereas it also facilitates structuring of the results and thus interpretation of the results. Analytical framework is also the basis for algorithm for evaluating corrected fuel consumption at balanced energy content of energy storage devices.

The article presents suitability of the kriging interpolation method for data analysis at measuring properties of fluids in large channels in various thermal and process plants. Using a practical example rather than complex statistical analyses the advantages of the kriging over other interpolation methods are presented. Several examples also give some guidelines on choosing number and distribution of measuring points to ensure accurate profiles.
