A design manual for plated structures (mainly plate and box girders in bridge construction) was published by Ernst&Sohn – A Wiley Company. A design manual explains the correct and economic use of Eurocode EN 1993-1-5 design rules and a large number of experimental results. The manual contains also additional design procedures that result from the research work of the authors.
F.17 Transfer of existing technologies, know-how, methods and procedures into practice
COBISS.SI-ID: 5237601In the framework of development of new high isolative thin-layer facade panels Trimo (VITP) the pilot laboratory tests on the mechanical behaviour of these panels were designed and performed. The bending and shear tests at monotonic and cyclic loading were preformed. These tests represented very important phase in the development of the new panels for which the production line has been already established.

Prof. dr. Jože Korelc has received Mercator Visiting Professorship for the period of 4 moths at Institut für Kontinuumsmechanik, Leibniz Universität Hannover for his scientific work on a field of automatization of numerical modeling.

COBISS.SI-ID: 5320033To assess the fire resistance of reinforced concrete structures in the gallery Šentvid the advanced calculation method was used. Three different fire scenarios were taken into account (burning car, truck, two tanks). Fire analysis was divided into two phases, in the mechanical and thermo-chemo-hydrological part. In the first part of the fire analysis the time-dependent change of temperatures and moisture content of structure during the fire was estimated. In the second part the mechanical response of the present structure due to simultaneous action of static and fire loads was analysed.
F.30 Professional assessment of the situation
COBISS.SI-ID: 5042017The frame of new study programme is buildings. Their design, construction and use represent a big part of construction sector. In the existing educational system of the University of Ljubljana two parts of the construction area are well represented: Architectural design (Faculty of Architecture) and design of load-carrying building structures (Faculty of Civil and Geodetic Engineering). In neither of the programmes the education in the area of "protective" structures, related mainly to structural building physics, is represented to a sufficient degree.
