Štore Steel Ltd. is a small flexible steel plant in Slovenia. In 2010, the new continuous rolling mill, which has a technical capacity of 250,000 tons per year, was installed. The new continuous rolling mill, which entailed a corresponding reduction in space, required an urgent relocation of machinery. The genetic algorithm was used for the optimal rearranging of the machinery. Twodimensional or threedimensional representation of the machines without any kind of geometrical restrictions can be used in the proposed genetic algorithm. The layout efficiency after machinery relocation could be increased by 58.1%, but due to spatial, financial, and practical constraints, the layout efficiency is only 13.6 % higher.
F.04 Increase of the technological level
COBISS.SI-ID: 2789115The software is designed for innovative automatic programming of the CNCmilling machine tool. Based on a CADmodel of the product, the software without any help of an expert, automatically prepares a NCprogram so that the machining is safe, accurate, time efficient and it fulfil the selected technological criteria. Advanced NSGAII multiobjective optimization is used. The system for evaluation of solutions uses a continuous simulation model which was implemented in the SolidWorks, however it is easily transferable to other CAD/CAM software tools
F.13 Development of new production methods and tools or processes
COBISS.SI-ID: 15802390The goal of these lectures was to acquaint our partners’ research institution and potential tool work shops in Srbia with partial research results on this project. The main purpose of this lecture was to present partners the developed monitoring system that can detect tool breakage in real time by using a combination of decision system and tool wear estimator. The principal presumption was that force signals contain the most useful information for determining the tool condition. Therefore the adaptive neural inference method is used to extract the features of tool states from cutting force signals. A neural network is used in tool condition monitoing as a decision making system to discriminate different malfunction states from measured signals. The overall machining error is predicted with very high accuracy by using the deflection module and a large percentage of it is eliminated through the proposed error compensation process. The fundamental limitation of research was to develop a singlesensor monitoring system, reliable as commercially available system, but much cheaper than multisensor approach.

COBISS.SI-ID: 16105494Real-time monitoring of oil contamination in hydraulic system is one of the most effective measures of prevention and early diagnosis for system failures. Contaminants such as particles, moisture, soot, fuel, and process fluids are commonly found in industrial lubricants and hydraulic fluids. However, particle contamination is typically recognized as the most destructive to the oil and machine. Paper presents operation principle of today's on-line particle counters and reports about their accuracy levels. Report is based on experimental research where 4 different cost-effective on-line particle counters were compared to a sophisticated laboratory-based particle counter.
