The directions for the design and optimization of steel penstock for new hydropower plant Kozjak was elaborated for company Dravske elektrarne Maribor. The optimization was performed by the non-linear programming optimization approach, NLP. The mass objective function of the steel structure was subjected to the design, structural analysis and dimensioning constraints. Structural steel S 690 was used. Optimal results show 36 % reduction of the structure mass, i.e. about 25 millions EUR of investment costs.
F.06 Development of a new product
COBISS.SI-ID: 15787030The study workshop “Energy Efficient Timber Buildings – Podlehnik 2012” was focused to design an energy-efficient municipal building and a two-storey residential building, both as prefabricated timber-frame or cross-laminated constructions. The students working on the project were divided into 10 groups, with 5 groups working on the municipal building and the remaining 5 on the residential building. Basic project requirements defining the size of the buildings and the purpose of their parts were set by the Slovenian Municipality of Podlehnik. In addition to satisfying these requirements, we paid particular attention to orientation, appropriate glazing size, daylighting, timber-frame modular system and statical analysis. Increased use of suitably oriented glazing areas in prefabricated timber-frame buildings has thus received a holistic approach respecting all the vital perspectives and has consequently become a solid basis for further development trends of such buildings in Slovenia and also abroad. The projects were presented on a special exhibition opened in Podlehnik on 28th of June 2012 and additionally on a special request also on the exhibition between 24th of January and 22nd of February 2013 in “Gospodarska zbornica Slovenije”.
