Clothes simulation for virtual prototyping in a virtual environment is increasingly gaining recognition and becoming a part of everyday life. In this article, approaches and methods used for behaviour simulation of textile materials, once they have been joined in a three-dimensional object – piece of clothing, car seat or a seating element of interior – are presented in addition to virtual prototyping process of clothes and their implementation into virtual fashion shows and garment e-marketing.

COBISS.SI-ID: 1433968Guest lectures can be treated as transfers of specific knowledge of textile mechanics at lower loads, which are important for behaviour of fabrics during manufacturing processes and use of garments. The topics included: Mechanical properties of fabrics and their role in engineering design and evaluation of textiles and clothing, Fabric handle as criterion of quality, Objective evaluation of mechanical and physical properties of textiles and leather, Influence of mechanical properties of fabrics on transformation from 2D to 3D shape and Quality assurance and prediction of garment appearance.

COBISS.SI-ID: 14026006Extensive theoretical and experimental research work related to influence of knitting process parameters and share of elastic yarn on mechanical and physical properties of knitted fabric was carried out. Direct relationship between knitting process parameters and mechanical properties of knitted fabric was established. Based on mathematical modelling and simulation of influence of various knitting process parameters, it was stated that loop length, resp. sinking depth, has dominant influence on change of deformational energy of knitted fabric; yarn delivery tension follows.

COBISS.SI-ID: 13334038Doctoral degree thesis deals with study of material properties of woven fabrics for summer women's clothing on thermo-physiological comfort in warm environment, which corresponds to high summer temperatures. Extensive experimental research on wearing comfort based on change of three physiological parameters: weighted skin temperature, heart rate frequency, quantity of evaporated sweat, resp. skin moisture and volume of sweat accumulated in clothing shown, that the material properties of textile fabrics built-in the clothing directly affected thermo-physiological comfort of wearer of garments.
