The book was inspired by the current trends in the fast developing research of the wireless sensors and computer networking areas. Previous knowledge and experience of the editors was fruitfully upgraded by promising applied results of the EU FP7 project ProSense that was initiated, developed and implemented by enthusiastic project consortium members. The specific domain of the emerging wireless sensor technology fused with computer networking is represented in the book by a holistic approach.

COBISS.SI-ID: 24198439We organized and led the international conference Wireless On-demand Network Systems, WONS 2010 in February 2010, Kranjska gora. We led also the special section on the body sensor networks. Program group leader was the leader of the program committee of WONS 2010. Details about the conference can be found on the WONS 2010 web: http://wons2010.tlc.polito.it/index.html.

COBISS.SI-ID: 23395367NevroEKG is a combined application designed for both experimental purposes and clinical use. Its main features are recording ECG measurements and measurements of other bio-signals, their processing and computer aided analysis. It includes most of the standard procedures for ECG processing and analysis. It is used for fast transfer of new technologies from research to practice, since the technologies implemented for research purposes can be easily modified to be used by neurologists.

COBISS.SI-ID: 24130343Computer simulator of ECGs is composed of several modules. These are the simulator of electrical activity of a heart cell, a heart model, and a signal transfer model. The simulator was created for the research of genesis of individual waves that are a part of an ECG measurement. An important part of the simulator is a built-in optimizer that works on the principle of evolutionary algorithms and is used for solving the inverse problem of ECG genesis - the problem of setting up the simulator for simulating ECGs that are as similar as possible to pre-specified measured ECG.
