The doctoral dissertation describes the development of a new process for gentle drying, micronisation and formulation of a high viscous biopolymer (gelatine). The research consisted of developing a new integrated process for high pressure atomization, drying and pulverization of a highly viscous gelatine on the basis of combination efect of »evaporation« and »gas solubility«. Obtained products were dry, free flowing powders, which still had high molecular masses. Regarding the new, gentle process method a completely new geltine product was obtained with unique properties. The developed proces was also patented under no. . »WO 002009135601«.

COBISS.SI-ID: 14762518The doctoral dissertation presents the method of choosing the optimal refrigerant for the functioning of high-temperature heat pumps in systems for district heating of buildings and the preparation of chilled water using a cooling system intended for the cooling of industrial processes. Internationally acknowledged documents from the fields of environment protection, thermo-physical characteristics of refrigerants and operational conditions for compressors are strictly followed when choosing the optimal refrigerant. For heating, three different types of high-temperature heat pumps are presented. For the optimal refrigerant with different typesof heat pumps, an economic analysis of the investment in relation to the refrigerant evaporation temperature is done. Furthermore, the economic effect of the replacement of the ozone-depleting refrigerant in the cooling system used for the preparation of iced water is presented.
