We proposed and applied a computerised framework for the design of water treatment and reuse networks based on a novel multilevel global optimisation method. Within the framework, optimisation methods, problem analysis tools and wastewater engineering knowledge are integrated within a computerised environment, in order to facilitate the formulation and solution of the design problems.

COBISS.SI-ID: 17185046This work presented the application of a generic multiperiod model for the efficient syntheses of biorefinerie supply networks at the continental level. This model explores specific regional characteristics for the production and supply of biofuels. Several the more advanced biofuels production technologies were considered and embedded within the biorefinery supply networks as surrogate models in order to handle the complexities of largescale supply networks. Economically optimal solutions were obtained by considering sustainable biomass production whilst preventing the usage of food for energy.

COBISS.SI-ID: 17135894This work presents an efficient framework for energy targeting and retrofitting the industrial Total Sites. An transhipment model with constrained matches – forced and/or forbidden matches – is further extended. It enables the optimum selection for reallocating the heat exchangers, which is practical for retrofitting. Framework could be applied for fixed and varying operational conditions. From the case-study it can be seen that significant improvements in energy efficiency and economic objective can be obtained when applying modifications.

COBISS.SI-ID: 18144278The basic question regarding a company's energy supply is "whether it is possible to significantly improve the company's energy supply based on renewables". A real case study of the large company Perutnina Ptuj showed that this objective can be achieved.
