A new class of polyHIPE materials has been prepared using high internal phase emulsions (HIPEs) with monomers in both phases. Resulting materials, namely hybrid polyHIPE materials, are obtained consisting of hydrophobic matrix (consisted of styrene crosslinked with DVB or dicyclopentadiene) filled with hydrophilic polymer gel (polyacrylic acid or polyNIPAM) and exhibit morphology changes according to pH and temperature of the surrounding medium. Our focus with regards to the production of hybrid polyHIPE materials was the responsiveness of such materials used for flow control. This property is beneficial for controlling the flow of the solution through the monolithic polymers. Furthermore, polyHIPE materials have also been prepared by using ring opening metathesis polymerisation of monomers, such as dicyclopentadiene and norbornene. Obtained materials have Youngćs moduli in the range of hundred times higher than standard polyHIPE materials with the same level of porosity which represents a very important improvement in the development of highly porous cellular polymeric materials.

COBISS.SI-ID: 13576470The objectives of chemometrics in environmental chemistry are focused on characterization and chemometrical classification regarding pollution of different environmental samples. Chemometrics is a scientific discipline between measurement oriented chemistry, applied statistics and mathematics. It has an important role in environmental chemistry. Modern analytical methods provide opportunity to collect large amounts of data for various environmental samples. For handling analytical results different chemometric methods are employed, such as basic statistical methods for the determination of mean and median values, standard deviations, minimal and maximal values of measured parameters and their mutual correlation coefficients, the principal component analysis (PCA), cluster analysis (CA), and linear discriminant analysis (LDA).

COBISS.SI-ID: 71052289The aim of the project is to construct the equipment for preparing the house reference materials and “gasinoil standards”. Transformer oils are subject to chemical reactions, the result is formation of gases, mainly hydrocarbons.Concentration and velocity of formation of gases are strongly connected to possibleincipient faults at electrical instrument (transformer). Reference material as well as gas in oil standards are necessary for the assessment of reliable analytical results ofdissolved gases in transformer oils which are consequently used for prediction of incipient faults in oil of insulated electrical instrument (transformer). The aim of the project is also to design and to build the equipment for accurate sampling of oils from power transformers. The new constructed instrument should not contain any mercury and have to avoid too much manual work. Instrument for large volume of gasinoil standard should be capable to prepare certified reference material for market.Dissolved gas analysis (DGA) is an industry standard for the detection and determination of faults in power transformers.
